In 2018, Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited (MMAL) sought proposals for a new 4,600sqm Head Office with office, workshop, and training spaces, to be delivered by March 2021. The facility would support 200 staff and include EV charging points, with a fully integrated fitout.

AAL was selected in early 2019 for its strong concept and site location. Working with Walter Brooke Architects and MMAL, AAL developed the design to 30% drawings to engage a contractor under a Design and Construct contract.

After a tender process, construction began in February 2020 and was completed by February 2021. MMAL relocated immediately and met their operational deadline.

The new HQ reflects Mitsubishi’s brand and shift to administrative and product support functions. The 3-storey, 4,282sqm building includes a ground floor for vehicle display, training, and workshops, and upper floors with open-plan offices for 200 staff, replacing the former Tonsley plant.
